Adidas and Arsenal FC today launch a women’s collection by adidas by Stella McCartney, designed to support Arsenal’s women on and off the pitch.
The 10-piece collection will blend athletic performance and sustainable innovation to support the world’s best athletes; from the moment they leave training to the moment they step onto the field.
With high-performance materials and sustainable innovation at the heart of the creative process, the pieces are made from organic cotton and partially made from recycled materials, continuing the brand’s ambition to help eliminate plastic waste.
All in all, the adidas by Stella McCartney × Arsenal Women co-branded collection offers a new vision for the club, humanity and the planet as a whole that is bold, expressive and compelling.
Arsenal Ladies striker Vivianne Miedema, who just became the first player in the FA WSL to score 100 goals earlier this month, said, “It’s fantastic to be able to design a clothing range for our team, not to mention that it’s designed by Stella McCartney. The designs are stunning and I can’t wait to get out on the field in this pre-match warm-up shirt as we enter such an important stage of the season.”
Stella McCartney said: “As the most beautiful women’s club in the UK, Arsenal Ladies is made up of an extraordinary group of athletes, so to be able to celebrate them — especially in what is such a pivotal year for female athletes — is very special. We’re excited to continue our soccer journey by creating our first travel apparel collection for a team. After our first foray into soccer last year with the Predator Freak vegan soccer cleat, we are once again staying true to the adidas by Stella McCartney DNA of intentionally pushing the boundaries of sports performance gear. I love how we’ve blended the personalized leopard print (an adidas by Stella McCartney signature) with unique colors to really connect the two worlds of fashion and soccer. We hope this collection will inspire current and future athletes to make their mark on and off the pitch.”
The Arsenal women’s team will wear the collection ahead of the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Emirates Stadium on March 26. The men’s team will also wear the series’ pre-match warm-up jerseys ahead of the Premier League match away to Crystal Palace on April 4.
